Educational Magic Showsmagical book

The CAIN Company uses magic and humor to promote reading and other educational goals. School and library programs include:

The Magic of Dreaming Big - This new show is inspired by the 2012 summer library reading program theme, "Dream Big - READ!"  Appearing as a magical dreamweaver, Cain conjuries up illusions using his "Giant Book of Big Dreams (and Little Nightmares)."  Children help perform tricks that sleepyencourage them to stretch their imaginations and reach for the stars.  They even have a chance to picture themselves in a variety of fields, including being a secret agent, movie star, Olympic athlete, and president of the United States.

The Magic of America Show - Tex the Cowboy Magician (alias  Ron Cain) uses magic and humor to highlight the nation's diversity. After a star-spangled opening routine, Tex tells spectators that he’s tracking down his friend, Jack Rabbit. Apparently, Jack became bored with their home on the range, so he ran away to explore the USA. With help from the audience and his bag of tricks, Tex magically tracks Jack from sea to shining sea. Illusions feature landmarks and symbols associated with various states.

Ron Cain's Wandering Wizard Show - As  the Wizard of Wands, Ron Cain wanders the world sharing the secrets of magic. He begins each show by welcoming young audiences to CAIN’s Traveling Academy of Magic, a 45-minute version of a typical day at wizardry school. Students learn the ?wonder of words? using a magic spell book. Then they help him wave his many wands to create some surprising illusions. Course subjects include alchemy, enchantment, numerology, and gruesome creatures like Chadwick the Dragon. And don’t forget ?teacher’s pet,? a card sharp who lives in a snake basket. Throughout the program, the genial Wizard of Wands encourages participation and emphasizes the magic of reading.

Ron Cain’s Wide World of Magic - Cain appears as a magical traveler in the spirit of Ulysses, Gulliver, Marco Polo, and Phileas Fogg. While spinning tales of magical people, places, and things, he presents illusions that feature faraway lands. Young audiences help him recreate adventures involving a Russian princess, a Norwegian troll-hunter, and a Brazilian trickster-monkey. They also explore the magical properties of African, Asian, and Australian artifacts hidden in his “Travel Trunk of Wonders.”

Ron Cain’s Magical Museum Show - This 45 minutes of picture-perfect entertainment was inspired by the 2003 summer New York state summer reading program theme. Appearing as a magical artist, Ron encourages young people to “Picture This, Imagine That -- READ!” He promotes reading while taking them on a tour of his Magical Museum, where the sole price of admission is your imagination. During the show, Ron exhibits a gallery of goofy gadgets, including his ABC (Already Been Chewed) Gumball Recombobulator and Pop Art Soup Cans that double as walkie-talkies. He also asks the audience to help him conjure up the missing piece to a puzzle-portrait of Mona Lisa.

Captain HurriCain's Seaside Magic Show & Captain HurriCain's Underwater Adventure - Ron Cain appears as the seagoing Captain HurriCain in two seagoing shows.  One promotes reading while celebrating the state's beaches and bodies of water. The other takes children to an underwater library populated by mermaids and fantasic ocean creatures.

Discover Millennium Magic Show - As Mr. Millennium, Ron Cain is a 31st-century magician who travels through time and space to help children discover the magic of reading. He demonstrates futuristic inventions and introduces RAD the Robot, whose very name encourages young earthlings to "read and discover."

The Case of the Missing Bunny - As the mysterious Professor Arcane, Ron Cain trades his top hat for a Sherlock Holmes cap when his magic bunny Watson turns up missing. Ron finds a note leading to several clues and magic tricks that focus on the value of reading.

Holiday Hocus Pocus - As the affable Mr. Magic, Ron Cain celebrates reading with illusions highlighting holidays. Children help him find a leprechaun, produce a Fourth of July banner, make a volunteer float above a ghostly chair, and open a Christmas/Hanukkah gift.
